Janez Lapajne [yannez la-pie-nay] was born on June 24, 1967 in Celje, Slovenia. He is an independent filmmaker, known for Osebna prtljaga (2009), Kratki stiki (2006), Selestenje (2002) and Who's Afraid of the Big Black Wolf? (2012). He is active as a director, producer, writer, editor and production designer. He co-founded Triglav film company in 2001, focused on cinéma d'auteur type of films. He participated as a producer, editor, and writer on some other feature films of younger Slovenian film directors, his former students. His awarded and critically acclaimed films are among the most noteworthy achievements of the contemporary Slovenian cinema.
