J Stevens (they/them) is a Canadian filmmaker. With over a decade of experience behind the camera, J's mission is to continue bringing dynamic, personal and visually captivating LGBTQ+ content to the forefront.J is the co-creator, cinematographer and director of the high-energy mockumentary series, Slo Pitch which recently aired season two on AMC+ & IFC. J directed two episodes of Astrid & Lilly Save the World airing on Crave, CTV Sci-Fi and Syfy. J also directed on season two of the HBO Max, CBC show Sort Of, airing fall 2022.DEFUND, a short film J was the cinematographer of premiered at TIFF 2021. They have been awarded the LGBTQ+ Spotlight Award at the 2020 TO Web Fest for Slo Pitch, as well as the Best Canadian Short at the 2019 Inside Out LGBT Film Festival for Soft Spot.
