Ivan Vladimirov was born in Pernik, Bulgaria. He graduated National School for Ancient Languages and Culture in Sofia, and then he studied Classical Philology in Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski ". After that he graduated from the Film and TV directing at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria in the class of Professor Georgi Djulgerov and Professor Svetoslav Ovtcharov. In 2007 he debuted with a 30-minute novella "Waltzes and Tangos in the Village of Whitewater." "Sneakers" (2011) is his first feature film, co-directed with Valeri Yordanov. The film was awarded with the Special Mention Award of Russian Film Clubs of Moscow 2011 and the Special Jury Prize of the Bulgarian National Film Festival "Golden Rose". Before that he has worked as an assistant director in many Bulgarian Movies.
