She appeared in films with football legend Kenny Washington, first African American to play national football, comedian Mantan Moreland, Apollo emcee Ralph Cooper, and dancer/actress Jeni LeGon and she was in the show (Ecstatic Ebony in Swing) at the legendary Burbank Theater in California. IdaBelle showed great potential to be a star. She also came from a prestigious family of firsts. Her son, Bob Relf, was a soul singer in the 1960's who had a hit dance song hit called "Harlem Shuffle," which has been sampled by other artists throughout the years.
