Heinz Weixelbraun was born in Spittal an der Drau, Carinthia, Austria, where he lived until the age of 18. He started actor education and passed the graduation examinationin in 1984 at Volkstheater in Vienna. From 1986 to 1991 he played at the Volksbühne Berlin under the direction of Hans Neuenfels or Klaus Emmerich. During this period he played at some films and TV dramas as Die Skorpionfrau (1989), Erwin und Julia (1991), and _Tatort - Wunschlos tot (1987) (TV)_. From 1992 he worked at Schauspielhaus Vienna, Rabenhoftheater and Ensembletheatre in Vienna. From 1996 to 2000 he played in the German / Austrian TV series _"Komissar Rex" (1994)_ , which became popular even outside of Europe. Since 1999, when he played Josef Goebbels at the play "Pogrom", he has dedicated himself again to the theatre.
