Haim David Oliver is a Bulgarian writer , publicist , writer and journalist . He is known as the author of children's and teenager's adventure and fantasy works. Haim Oliver (Ollie) was born in Kyustendil on January 8, 1918. He studied economics , music and journalism, graduated from French College in Sofia in 1936. Then he studied (at the same time) two years in External Relations at the Higher Institute of Economics in Vienna and composition, singing, piano in the same city. Since 1938 he had tackled with the illegal activity prohibited on the territory of the Third Reich. He was captured and sent to a concentration camp, from where he escaped. After the war he had worked as a correspondent for various newspapers and radio. In 1959, he graduated from journalism school in Sofia. He is an author of several works and scripts for films (fiction, popular science and animation). He was a laureate of communist awards. In science fiction he had debuted with a child's novella "The great march of dinastronavts" (1966); on its base is made a film "the Federation of dinastronavts." in 1984. He died on 7 August 1986 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
