Gunilla Ekroth, born Kerstin Gunilla Andersson, 1945 in Halmstad, is a Swedish actress, exotic dancer and writer, best known as "Gunilla af Halmstad". She ended up in the world of entertainment by chance and poverty. Her stage debut was in a small variety show in 1962 as a nude statue. In 1964 the famous Swedish composer, conductor and TV-host caught her act in a night club in Malmö. The two became friends for life. "Gunilla af Halmstad" performed at cabarets and theatres through Europe, an appeared in couple of feature films during the 1970's. Gunilla Ekroth published her memoirs "Ett annat liv i Sverige" (A different life in Sweden) in 2009.
