Gregor Zupanc, director and TV producer, was born on July 5th, 1976, in Belgrade, Serbia, the former Yugoslavia. He is known for Lestvica (2003), Pecina (2003), Moj Licni Pecat (2012/2013) and Radiovizija (2014/2015). Gregor comes from a family of artists. His father Dragomir is Serbian-Slovenian TV director and producer with a long career at the Radio Television Serbia, the Television Titograd and active role in the cultural scene of the former Yugoslavia. Uncle Miodrag is a theater playwright and editor in chief of the Cultural & Education Department of Serbian Public TV Network RTS. Aunt Jelica is a playwright and screenwriter, brother Ivan Zupanc is a contemporary artist and owner of the alternative photo gallery "Observatory", and sister Sodja Zupanc - Lotker is a theater director, playwright and creative director of Prague Quadrennial. During the early childhood, Gregor attended the school of amateur film and animation in "Cinema Club - Sumice", where he made his first documentaries and super 8 mm cartoons. He also studied clarinet and played water polo. He had attended The 11th Belgrade Gymnasium in the mid-nineties during the wars and major political and economic crisis that hit the country where he was born. After graduating high school, he studied at the Academy of Physical Culture - DIF, which he left after two years to dedicate himself to film, television and contemporary arts. After the mass student protests on the streets of Belgrade and major Serbian cities against the dictatorial regime of Slobodan Milosevic, in which he actively participated, he enrolled in the educational department of the Serbian Public TV Network RTS - "The Center For Young Talents", where he gained his first professional knowledge of the television directing and TV production. There he wrote, directed and acted in his first short film KA.K. The film was an experimental TV portrait of Belgrade painter Kosta Bunusevac and it premiered during prime time on the First Channel of RTS in the framework of a special program that promoted modern trends in television aesthetics. Between 1999 and 2001 he studied and graduated at Film School "Dunav Film", famous on the local and international scene for their legendary and multi-award-winning documentaries, short features and animated films that were emerging between 1950 - 2010. While attending the school, "Dunav Film", Gregor Zupanc wrote and directed several short films and documentaries. One of them "The Cave (Pecina)" won an award at the oldest national festival of short and documentary film "The Belgrade Short Meter". After graduation he started to work on The Third Channel RTS, where he stayed for over 6 years as a director, show runner, producer and creator of two original TV formats: the TV Quiz - "15 Minutes of Fame" and the fashion show "Glad Rags". Between 2006 and 2011, Gregor worked as a freelance producer, show runner and director of music videos, commercials, TV formats, political campaigns, feature and short films in Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Slovenia. In 2011 he founded his own production company "Fira Video" which in co-production with numerous Serbian studios and television stations produced music videos, commercials and two short TV to Web formats, both of which were picked up by the RTS. The documentary series "Moj Licni Pecat /My Personal Mark" has been running for two seasons of 25 episodes each, and the first season of 18 episodes of the animated documentary series "Radiovizija") will be broadcast from September 2015 The First Channel of RTS.
