Yiorgos Mylonas was born in Alonia in Pieria. He studied cinematography and theatre in Greece and France. Five of his plays for the theatre have been staged with great success in major theatres in Athens. Since 1972 he has worked as a director and scriptwriter. He has directed 30 films and wrote 70 scripts for the Greek cinema. Several of his films earned public acclaim. He wrote the script and also directed twelve serials for the greek television, also with great success. He served as a member of the Executive Board of the Association of Greek Theatre Writers between 1987-1990 and as Secretary General of the Association of Greek Directors between 1996-1999. Since 1999 to this day he serves as President of the Organization for Copyrights of Greek Directors and Scriptwriters. His first novel published by Livani Publishing Organisation in 2001.
