Born in southern Illinois, Fred attended university in Norman, Ok He moved to Los Angeles mid 1930's, married Mayde Wheeler, had two sons (both deceased now) and started work at Disney as animator 1937 Fred worked with many animators and studios during his career as animator, writer and director. He was nominated for an academy award for "Tell Tale Heart" in the early 1950's. He painted for pleasure as well as animation, writing and directing during his lifetime
