Ernesto Padrón was born on Mar 14, 1948 in Cuba. Ernesto Padrón's big-screen debut came with Elpidio Valdés contra dólar y cañón directed by Juan Padrón in 1983.

Journalist, graphic designer, comic book illustrator and animation director. He was director of the children's magazines Zunzún and Bijirita (1982-1998). He collaborated with his brother Juan Padrón in the feature films "Elpidio Valdés", "More was lost in Cuba", "Vampires in Havana", and was assistant director in "More vampires in Havana". In July 2014, "Meñique" was released, his first feature film as a director, and the first animated 3D feature from Cuba, which won the Coral Award for Animated Feature Film at the 36th International Havana Film Festival and nominated for best animated feature at the Goya Awards and the Platino Ibero-American Film Awards.
