Dorian DeMichele is an actress, writer, comedienne, singer-songwriter, dancer, choreographer and producer. Beginning at an early age, she has worked professionally in theatre, film, television, music and dance. At age thirteen, she received a scholarship from The Lyric Opera Ballet of Chicago under the direction of esteemed ballerina Maria Tallchief and the preeminent George Balanchine, performing in such productions as Prokofiev's "The Love For Three Oranges" at the Civic Opera House. Dorian also worked as singer/songwriter in the music industry. She received a joint-scholarship from The Rotary Foundation to serve as an Ambassador of Good Will, representing Arts and Culture while living in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Brazil. While living in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Brazil, she worked with Argentinian actors Alicia Berdaxagar, Pepe Cibrian and was admitted into the intimate writer's salon headed and trained by mentor Felix "Grigio" della Paolera (Jorge Luis Borges) where she wrote her first full-length play as an adult. Her works have been presented in the U.S. and abroad. Some favorite projects and experiences include the Independent Feature Film "Side Effects" (co-starring with Katherine Heigl of "Grey's Anatomy"), "The Secret Lives of Dentists" (An Alan Parker Film), and her one-person, multi-character theatre play, "Statues From The Fountain" which garnered acclaim from legendary Broadway producers Joseph Papp (The Public Theater, NYC), Arthur Cantor (The Tenth Man, On Golden Pond) who became her mentor, and The National Endowment for the Arts. She also worked with The Second City of Chicago, training alongside Emmy Award winner and feature film actor, Bob Odenkirk (SNL, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad). She works with several professional theatre companies in New York City and Los Angeles, CA. She is a life-long and founding member of The Actor's Gym with Artistic Director Robert Moresco (Academy Award Winner for Crash and Million Dollar Baby), developing new works for theatre, film, television, in both Los Angeles and New York. She lives in New York City and is a multi-lingual performer, working on foreign stage plays and films.
