Blee was born on June 8, 1958 in Orange County, California and grew up in the San Francisco bay area. Debra started out as a member of the Berkeley Repertory Group, where she acted in stage productions of such plays as "Wait Until Dark", "The Tavern", and "Room Service". She moved to Los Angeles in 1981 to pursue a full-time acting career.
