David Cartwright was born in Oakville Ontario Canada. He received his BA in film and television from Sheridan College. Where he directed his first Documentary Walter which won best documentary at Canada Shorts Film Festival. He would later go on to Direct Written in Red which was selected and screened at Toronto Shorts International Film Festival. David got his MA in Cinema Studies from York University and continues to purse a career in documentary and fiction filmmaking proudly contributing to Canada's film culture.
