Wanita Woodgett, better known as "D. Woods," grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts where she discovered her love for performing at an early age. Relocating to Atlanta, Ga. as a teen, she honed her craft in the Arts at Tri-Cities High School for Visual and Performing Arts, and the Freddie Hendricks Youth Ensemble of Atlanta.. D. Woods continued her education and training at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Acting Program and Study Abroad Dance Program in Havana Cuba, the Alvin Ailey School and received her Bachelor of Arts at The Gallatin School of Individualized Study. She became a familiar face on television for three intense seasons on "Making the Band 3" which was one of MTV's most highly rated shows with over 63 million viewers in the "tween" and young adult demographics, securing a spot in the pop/R&B girl group Danity Kane (Bad Boy/Atlantic Records). D.Woods' contributions in songwriting and performance helped the group to achieve chart-topping and certified Platinum status, placing them in the Guiness Book of World Records with Danity Kane's 2 consecutive #1 album debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. D. Woods is the Founder of Woodgrane Entertainment and has been recognized as a Grammy Nomination contender several years consecutively. Returning to her theatrical roots, her credits including "Holla If You Hear Me" directed by Kenny Leon (True Colors Theatre), Christopher Green's "Prurience" (The Guggenheim Museum), Patrick Ian Polk's acclaimed film "Blackbird", the AllBLK streaming network series "Stuck With You", and the Off Broadway revival of Ntozake Shange's "for colored girls..." at The Public Theater. Most recently D. Woods presented the world premiere of her semi-autobiographical, One-Woman show, "My Favorite Color: Trouble In Paradise" in Atlanta Ga.
