Coop is the son of actor Buck Taylor and actress Judy Nugent. He is the brother of actors Matthew Taylor and Adam C. Taylor. He is the brother-in-law of actress Anne Lockhart who is the daughter of well known actress June Lockhart who is most well known for her role as Ruth Martin in the series Lassie (1954). Coop is the grandson of actor Dub Taylor and the nephew of actress Carol Nugent. He does a lot of stunt work in Hollywood and also competes in team roping competitions on the Rodeo circuit.
