Cleve Lamison began his career as an actor, touring the world with Shenandoah Shakespeare and receiving international acclaim for his portrayal of Othello, while still in his mid twenties.His writing has won or been a finalist of the Mary Roberts Rinehardt National Drama Award, The Pilgrim Project Playwriting Grant, Scriptapalooza's TV Drama Award, The American Accolades Award, The New York Theatre Workshop's Van Lier Fellowship, The America's Best Writing Award and Pilot Quest TV Writing Competition and the 2004 Screenplay Festival.His short film, "The Story" won first place at the 12th annual Denver World Film Festival as well as best actor and best actress in a short film. His short film, "Jack For President" was a runner up in the New York City 24-hour filmmaking contest.
