Chris Conlee was born to David and Mary Conlee in The Dalles, Oregon, on March 5th, 1967. He graduated from Columbia College with a bachelor's in Cinema in 1992, then joined the U.S. Army for 4 years to pay for it. While serving in the military, he saved enough money to start his own film editing company, which he did upon his return to Los Angeles in 1997. His first "major" film was Extreme Honor (2001) which stars Michael Madsen and Michael Ironside, and was executive produced by John Follmer.
