Chord Melodic is a British actor, known for Happy Valley (2014), Coronation Street (1960) and Coming Up (2003). Born on November 27, 1986 in Manchester, England as Christopher Michael Hall, he is of English, Irish and West Indian (St Kitts and Nevis) ancestry.Melodic started acting at the age of 12 and was involved in numerous school productions.His first paid acting role was in 2007 for Hope Theatre Company in Manchester. The play was OUT/LOUD, a ground-breaking verbatim play that explored homophobia, bullying and hate crime. The play was based on interviews with young LGBT+ people. He played a number of parts throughout the plays tour.Chord's major television debut came in 2008 when he starred in the flagship children's drama Grange Hill (1978). In the same year he also starred in hit British crime drama Blue Murder (2003) opposite Holliday Grainger. He followed that up with numerous roles including BAFTA Award winning drama Shameless: Very Important Punk (2004) and comedy drama Coming Up, opposite Debra Stephenson, Con O'Neill and Jodie Comer. Melodic later starred in Sally Wainwright's BAFTA Award winning crime drama series Happy Valley opposite Sarah Lancashire.Additionally, following his starring role in Holby City (1999) opposite Hugh Quarshie, he then starred in the world's longest-running soap opera Coronation Street as Joe Haslam, an ex-soldier and owner of a private military company , who helped to bring down super villain Pat Phelan.
