Brandon Slagle began his career as a heavy metal vocalist, later graduating to acting where he appeared in numerous feature films and television programs. After transitioning to a full-time feature director, his 2013 self-financed thriller "The Black Dahlia Haunting" broke sales records for an Independent Film on Redbox, charting with such studio fare as The Purge and The Conjuring.His 2014 crime drama "House of Manson" (inspired by the life of notorious criminal Charles Manson) gained international attention during its festival run, garnering recognition at the California Film Awards, the Canada International Film Festival, the European Independent Film Festival, and Germany's Snowdance Independent Film Festival. The film went on to a successful release in Europe and the United States, eventually receiving a remastered director's cut in 2019.In 2016, the casting of Independence Day's Vivica A. Fox in Slagle's sci-fi-action feature "Crossbreed" garnered international attention for becoming the first feature film to highlight an African-American Female in the role of the President of the United States.Slagle's psychological thriller "The Dawn", starring Stacey Dash (Clueless) and Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls) debuted in American theaters January 2020, followed later in the year by the alien invasion action film "Attack of the Unknown".After numerous projects being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he returned behind the camera in 2021 with a vengeance, directing the features "Frost", "Arena Wars", "Breakout", and more others which haven't yet been announced.
