Bill was born at home in Wakefield, West Yorkshire to a coal miner father and a mill worker mother in 1960.Aged 10 he was fortunate to meet Frances Cox a very accomplished character actor who taught him drama at school but also taught him the discipline required by an actor.He won a scholarship to Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in 1974, one of the finest in the Country. Having completed A levels he attended St John's College, YorkIn 1982 on the cusp of booking his first BBC role he left the world of performance to join the Police Service. He was decorated by The Queen and honoured by Courts and Chief Constables.After twenty fabulous years he was medically retired and went on to work on a number of high profile police related projects around the Country.He returned to acting in 2015. Having completed work on a large number of independant productions his first break was a guest role in series one of SkyOnes Bulletproof quickly followed by guest roles in a number of well known TV series.His career has gone from strength to strength resulting in a series regular role in SCREW a new Channel 4/STV 6 part drama.He is viewed as a valuable member of any cast who brings not only professionalism but fun in equal measure!
