Bennu Yildirimlar was born in Istanbul. She graduated in 1990 from Istanbul University State Conservatory of Theatre, after she finished Erenkoy High School in 1986. In 1990-1991, she took courses for drama in London Westminster Adult Education. Workshops in England helped her to improve her English. Yildirimlar also studied Ancient Greek Language and Literature for 2 years. While she was studying in university, also started to work in Istanbul State Theatres and she has been working since 1988. Yildirimlar's first play was ''Kuslar'' by Aristophanes. She started to get known and admired with her role of the obstinate girl, Elif, with the popular TV series called ''Super Baba'' in 1997. Her career reached to the top with the long run popular TV series called ''Yaprak Dokumu'' which was based on a famous novel by Resat Nuri Guntekin.
