Ben Maccabee is an American actor who was born in Haifa, Israel. His mother Sima Cohen Kobby, was a nurse and a house maker, while his father Judah Maccabee Kobby, was a Merchant marine and a restaurant owner. At the age of fourteen, Ben packed his bags and went into a boarding school for the next four years. These were the years where Ben gained his independence and was forced to "survive" the streets. Despite a rough childhood, Ben never turned into the life of a hoodlum and crime. Instead he focused on martial arts and maintaining good grades. Always having in mind to come to America and making it in Hollywood. "Films were always my passion, watching Steve McQueen, Marlon Brando, Charles Bronson, Clint Eastwood, James Coburn, Sylvester Stallone and of course Bruce Lee. I knew this was where I was going". That dream was put on hold. Ben joined the Israeli Defense Force for four years Ranking First Sgt. After being honorably discharged Ben acquired a Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering and a degree in Physical Fitness. Finally ready, he packed his bags one last time and moved to America. This was surely his dream come true.Both focused and determined he started on his journey. Ben attended The Estelle Harmen Actors workshop In Hollywood. A short while after he married his childhood sweetheart, Ronit and the two brought a son together, Judah Dean.Ben debuted as an actor and was on a show called Knights and Warriors in 1992. Later on in 1994 Ben was cast to play the role of a party host in the low budget film Deadly Eyes. Ben saw the opportunity and later on approached Producer Bob Kronovet with a treatment for a script title 'Lethal Heart'. Days later Gun for Hire Films announced 'Lethal Heart' as their next feature film starring Ben Maccabee. The title was then changed to Enter the Blood Ring. The movie was a big success. Ben starred in another film by Gun for Hire titled Broken Bars. Later on he directed, wrote and starred in a film titled The Ultimate Prey produced by his company Tiberia Pictures. Shortly after Ben and Ronit got divorced. To this day, the two of them remain very good friends.Things changed and he had to put career on hold to raise his son. In 2005 Ben received a call from the History Channel to come and audition for the role of Hannibal the Great, auditioning up against Hollywood's finest selection of bad asses, Ben ended up booking the role of history's greatest general, Hannibal Barca, Directed by Mark Hafnail. That year Ben wrote directed and star in the second feature film Produced by Tiberia Pictures, Moses, Fallen In the City of Angels. Ben has a strong presence and is a strong leading man who plays multi ethnic roles. Among his other passions is Vintage car racing, Indian motorcycles, small planes and working on his cars and his Motorcycles.Above all Ben is a dedicated father to his sons J Dean and Harel and Adi Joshua. Dean, is a very talented actor and writer. Growing up with a father who's pride and joy is acting, Dean has also developed a passion for the art of performing.In 2009 He met Sabit Adry and shortly after they got married. They brought together their son Harel. In Israel, Sabit was The Israeli Prime minister Ariel Sharon's political assistant for over seven years. After making a life changing decision of moving to the United States, she became and still is certified Children's program director. Ben is also the owner of Steel Buffalo Motors, Inc. Located in west Los Angeles.Ben and his family reside in Los Angeles, California.
