A one time rubber-faced star of comedy theatre from the mid 1910s, starred in a series of four short 'Will O' Wisp' comedy films directed by Cecil Mannering for the British Gaumont Film Company in 1920 the first of which was 'Horatio's Deception'. later appeared in mostly support roles in talkies through the 1930s until his last film in 'Kipps' in 1941.
