Amalia Levari is a screenwriter. She was born in Safed, Israel. She grew up in Pittsburgh and Michigan. She won an Emmy in 2015 for her writing on Cartoon Network's Over the Garden Wall, as well as the Eisner Award for a 5-issue comic book adaptation. She spent three years as a writer on Nickelodeon's Harvey Beaks, for which she received a second Emmy nomination in 2017. Back to Backspace, her animated short for Cartoon Network, was nominated for a 2015 Annie Award (it lost to The Simpsons). Her recent writing credits include episodes of Netflix's Centaurworld, Adult Swim's Joe Pera Talks With You, Cartoon Network's Summer Camp Island, Frederator's Bravest Warriors, and Disney's Star vs. the Forces of Evil. Amalia has written and story-consulted at those studios, as well as Amazon, Dreamworks, and League of Buddies. She received a B.A. from Hampshire College and an M.F.A. from CalArts, where she sometimes teaches screenwriting.
