Alexandra Kidd, the daughter of Domenica Piragine, a former drama teacher, and Vincent Louis, a high profile class action lawyer, was born and raised in Hinsdale, Illinois. Kidd is of Italian, Irish, and French Canadian descent. Alexandra began violin and ballet at age three.She was discovered in a restaurant while she was in high school. Alexandra then landed the featured dancer role in the motion picture, La rupture (2006) starring Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston.
